Luz Holmes

Luz Holmes serves as the Outreach Manager of ActUp Theater. She is an extraordinary Performing Artist, as well as Program Administrator, Inspirational Speaker, Community Organizer, National Presenter, and Influencer. During the past several years, she has cultivated her purpose and passion for Youth Engagement through, building her spirituality, gaining ample academic knowledge and most of all interacting and pouring into the lives of youth any chance she gets.

Jalen Thompson serves as ActUp Theater's Visual Storyteller. He embodies creativity and unwavering dedication. His diverse career in project management, photography, and video production reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence. Collaborating with ActUp resonates deeply with Jalen. ActUp's commitment to promoting the arts and nurturing emerging talent aligns with his values. It's an opportunity to give back to the community and support aspiring artists in the performing arts. Beyond media production, Jalen's favorite musical/play is "Hamilton."

Xel Simone

Xel Simone serves as Assistant to the Executive Director of ActUp Theater. They are a creative intersectionalist and writer grateful for their work as an embodied storyteller. ActUp Theatre has since encouraged Simone to grow as a community member and teacher, and creates opportunities for them to foster the growth of other young creatives - one of Simone's major life goals. Simone is grateful to be a part of the ActUp family and create art for the Greater Hartford Area Community to enjoy. Their (current!) favorite play is How I Learned What I Learned by August Wilson.

Evelyn Rivera

Evelyn Rivera serves as the Parent Board Emeritus for ActUp Theater. A long standing member of the ActUp Family, Evelyn has consistently donated her time and efforts to the work of ActUp Theater with various roles and responsibilities. Her dedication to the mission of ActUp Theater and a true love for the arts make her an invaluable member of the ActUp Team. Born in New York and raised in Hartford, CT, Evelyn now dedicates her time to helping others in need.
