Through PopUp With A Purpose, ActUp Theater will present a collection of song, dance, and spoken word with a message focused around social justice activism. Our talented professionals will deliver quality, impactful performances that will add a positive, community-driven element to any event. Puerto Rican Day Parade | 2019: The parade takes place annually and is held in honor of the 3.2 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico and all people of Puerto Rican birth or heritage residing on the U.S. mainland.

The Bloomfield Center Festival & Block Party | 2020: The event welcomes residents from Bloomfield and surrounding towns to a full afternoon of excitement. With ActUp Theater’s performance it became a premier destination for family fun, food, and more.

Mother’s United Against Violence Annual Gala | 2019, 2022: Mothers United Against Violence is a grassroots organization that advocates for and assists victims of violent crime in the capital city. ActUp Theater performed a combination of original and prepared works to encourage the audience to continue their support of Hartford youth as well as their families. 

Girls for Technology | November 2019: ActUp Theater was honored to perform at Girls for Technology Gala by Founder Sabrina Tucker-Barrett. The content was curated with their audience in mind to encourage young women and the support of them. Girls for Technology aims to empower the next generation of girls to explore opportunities to become tomorrow’s leaders in STEM.

Capital Preparatory School | 2021: ActUp Theater performed at Hartford’s Capital Preparatory School for Black History Month. We showcase our talent to create a community of lifelong learners who will be assets to their community by working towards Social Justice.

Tamron Hall: An Evening Of Philanthropy: Friday, April 20th, 2018, ActUp Theater Company was the opening act for a celebration of philanthropy with award-winning journalist and former "Today Show" co-host, Tamron Hall. The Company performed with an original script paying homage to the evolution of philanthropy in the black community by Faithlyn Johnson. The event entitled, Francine Austin Presents: An Evening with Tamron Hall was hosted at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.
