Immerse Yourself In A World Of Creativity
ActUp Theater’s Arts Academy (ATAA) is hosting a 4-week intensive summer academy to ignite your passion for the arts. Our skilled master teaching artists are excited to develop creativity and talent with each unique participant in mind. This series is designed to help youth and teens build techniques, expand their artistic network, participate in an immersive learning experience and while having a great time!
At ATAA, we champion every student’s creativity and growth. By combining integrated disciplines with collaborative problem-solving, we deliver an immersive, transformative learning experience to Do it with BIG, Do it BOLD, Do it With Style, Do It for the CULTURE, and Do it with ActUp Theater!
8-13 YEARS OLD
The ATAA Summer Academy offers elementary and middle school students an immersive learning experience with a diverse group of peers and professional educators. The academic enrichment program's dynamic curriculum is enhanced by creativity, curiosity, and passion for the arts.
PAID OPPORTUNITY WITH INTERVIEW — 14-19 YEARS OLD
In high demand, our second year of our Fellows Program. The benefits to the fellows are exciting and important. They will be exposed to dance, voice and diction, improvisation, classical and modern drama, and a variety of musicals. This includes working with a great team of art enthusiasts who care deeply about producing quality work, learning the ins and outs of theater, and developing their skills while getting paid!
In return, the fellows should bring essential skills to this position:
Excellent communication skills
Creativity, attention to detail
The ability to work independently and with teams on showcase pieces
A strong interest in the arts–specifically theater

Dance | 8 COUNT
5-6-7-8! Hit the dance floor and show us your skills during our summer dance studio!! With techniques varying from ballet and jazz to modern, hip-hop, and more, a wide variety of styles will be explored to sharpen your skills and propel your talent. This dance studio encourages youth and young adults to be versatile in their expressions, emotions, and movement styles. Perfect for those who love music and movement!
Singing | VOICES ON
Sing your heart out with your Voices On! This academy studio is a must-have experience at any point in your vocal journey. Building confidence, enhancing vocal technique, and learning creative runs are just some of the skills taught in this studio. With an experienced vocal coach, you will learn vocal technique, warm-ups, emotional interpretation, performance readiness, and many other necessary components to be a confident, well-rounded vocalist on and off the stage.
Spoken Word/Poetry | POETIC JUSTICE
Get your Poetic Justice this summer as you learn how to take words beyond the paper! This Spoken Word/Poetry studio is perfect for improving your speech technique, writing skills, expression, and ability to perform in front of an audience. With these skills, you will be able to deliver a powerful performance, be confident in any theater-based setting, and showcase your poetic flow.
