ActUp Theater Company is bringing an exciting, colorful story of resilience to the stage this spring with a remixed version of The Wizard of Oz! The Broadway-style sensation looks at what happened in the Land of Oz… but from a different angle.
Mother and daughter duo, Faithlyn and Tyler Johnson work their magic to remix and directs the multicultural cast of extraordinary talent with over 50 inner-city youth and community members that will be sweep off your feet and into The Wiz of Oz!
With a thrilling score that includes the hits like “Be a Lion” “Don’t Go Bring Me No Bad News & Home” The production will feature vivid imagery with costumes and set designed and dance choreographed by JusMove Studios.

Samantha Acosta as “Dorothy” is a sophomore at The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. She thoroughly enjoys singing, dancing and bringing a character to life She has previously sung the Hartford Yard Goats game during the summer. Sam believes ActUp gives kids the opportunity to showcase their talents and help them conquer any fears. She is very excited to have her first leading role as Annie and Kate.
Breoanna Walker as "Dorothy" is a 26-year-old musical Professional and has come from a family of musical professional. She performed a short-filled called "Triple-R" and has sung jazz numbers Big Belly Kelly's. She is a member of the third Tabernacle Church of God and Saint of Christ. She is proud to be starring opening and closing night.
