Faithlyn Johnson

Founder & Executive Director for ActUp Theater, Inc. She is a CT Presidential Award-winning Master Artist of Theater; that facilitates Theater & literacy workshops in numerous schools and local nonprofits. The Founder and Executive Director of ActUp Theater’s life’s work is a testament to our purpose. Faithlyn Johnson is a founding member and visionary of the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s Neighborhood Studios initiative then went on to start her own Theater company pulling from her formal training and experience across the globe. Johnson then landed in her hometown of Hartford, Connecticut creating an organization simply to cultivate the arts in her community. Her original musicals productions include; “Stand the Musical”, “Where Do We Go From Here “and “Just Don’t Talk... Say Something!”

Priestley Johnson

Chief Operations Officer for ActUp Theater, Inc. She is also the Development Manager of the International Women's Forum Leadership Foundation in Washington DC. She is a recent 2016 Howard University graduate with experience working for the Obama White House Administration. She brings her expertise in marketing, events, acting and choreography.

Tyler Johnson

Production & Technical Director for ActUp Theater, Inc. Her experience is expansive and started with her connection to God. While in Florida, she became Head Sound Engineer for New Beginnings Church. She went on to become the lead intern at Premier Studios in New York City, where she organized the studio for high demand label artists to ensure their unique work environment. She assisted in recording sessions for internationally recognized artists such as; Busta Rhymes, Trey Songz, DJ Khaled, Cassidy, Wale and etc.

Jamila Taylor

Chief Development Officer for Actup Theater. To this role she brings over 20 years of experience as well as a diverse background in business operations, fundraising, and project management. Jamila believes Actup is important because we give young people and adults the tools they need to be advocates in their community. They provide a platform for youth voices. As well as, offer opportunities for the community to come together, feel welcome, and enjoy quality performances led by their own community members. Jamila is an alumni of Howard University and studied for a Master’s in Business Administration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Jamila's favorite musical is Hello Dolly!
